What is SEENPM?
The South East European Network for Professionalization of Media (SEENPM) promotes excellence in journalism through policy initiatives, research and training.
SEENPM unites fifteen non-for-profit media centers from eleven South East European and neighboring countries. Its activities are based on the belief that joint commitment and cooperation are pivotal to the development of independent media, the strengthening of relations among journalists, and overall progress in the region.
Since its establishment in February 2000, SEENPM has implemented a wide range of journalism training, exchange, and media policy research and advocacy projects. Several thousand media professionals have benefited from these opportunities.
What are SEENPM objectives?
The Network seeks

- to enhance professional and ethical standards in journalism;
- to promote transparency in the media industry;
- to help sustain and develop national and regional journalism training and media research capacities;
- to boost exchange of information and expertise among media professionals;
- to advocate media policy initiatives both on national and regional levels;
- to advance the cooperation of the member centers with similar institutions from other regions, e.g. Western Europe, North America, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa.
